Dear Swimmers, Divers, and Families,
After this winter I hope everyone is looking forward to the summer. I know all of us are. We have some exciting news! Chris Jankowski is joining our coaching staff! He will be our Head Swim Coach. Chris will be at our meet and greet so everyone will be able to meet him. We’re looking forward to another great season. As always it will be fun, challenging and rewarding for all.
Our Swimming and Diving Meet and Greet will be on Saturday June 11th from 10:00 to 12:00PM. At this meeting you will be able to meet the coaches and purchase suits, goggles and other equipment you might need for the swim team. Two vendors will be present: Metro Swim Shop for purchase of swimsuits, goggles, etc. and a separate vendor that will have tee-shirts and shorts with our team logo on it. The cost for the swimming/diving team is $75 per swimmer. You will need to pay by separate check for both the clothing vendor and signing up for the team.
Every swimmer’s participation contributes to the team’s success. Because of our past achievements the size of our team has grown over the past few years. To ensure participation by every swimmer regardless of experience, there are three types of meets: “A” meets, “B” meets, and Invitational meets. The coaching staff will determine who will swim in each type of meet according to the following criteria: “A” meet participants will include the 2 fastest timed swimmers in each event within each age group for home meets and the 3 fastest swimmers for away meets. However, on occasion a swimmer may be asked to “Age Up” (swims in an age group with older swimmers) provided both the swimmer and their parent agree to it. All swimmers who have not placed first in an “A” meet will remain eligible for “B” meets. This is the same system that we have always used and we find it to be the most fair and most appropriate.

AM lanes 1&2 10:30-11:30 /PM lanes 1&2 4:30-5:30
( same as last year)
AM lanes 3&4 10:30-12:00 /PM lanes 3&4 4:30-5:30
( different PM schedule)
**NEW 13-over PM- 5:00-6:30
(5:00-5:30 dryland and 5:30-6:30 swim)
We greatly appreciate the support that our parents have given us in the past. We will need your help again to make our season a success. You can help by volunteering to time events, write ribbons, keep score, or help with the yearbook.
The Willowbrook Summer Swimming and Diving Team offers a positive experience for everyone involved while developing sportsmanship, team spirit, and friendships that last beyond the summer. All swimmers and divers are encouraged to do their best and to be proud of their accomplishments. GO WILLOWBROOK!!!
