Welcome back to another great year at the Willowbrook Swim and Tennis Club!! I am very excited to be returning and I am looking forward to making your summer a great one with many activities around the tennis courts this year.  I hope the programs look exciting to you and please be in touch with any questions or concerns. We will have a wide variety of demo racquets. You can purchase both junior and adult racquets. We also have a stringer at the club and will have a quick turnaround on all racquet stringing. We will have balls, grips, shoes, clothing, and other tennis accessories. If there is something we don't have or carry, let us know.

Director of Tennis
Michael Dowd is the returning Director of Tennis at the Willowbrook Swim and Tennis Club. He has also just finished his 13th year as the Head Women's Tennis Coach at the University of Pennsylvania. Mike also was previously the Tennis Director at the Maplewood Swim and Tennis Club in Hartsdale, NY.

In 1996, Mike became the youngest Division I Head Coach in the country. He brought the Penn Tennis Program to national status. His team won the 2007, 2002 and 2001 Ivy League Championship, the first ever Ivy League Tennis Championship for Penn. His team beat Harvard for the first time in 20 years in 2001. He also coached Penn to 3 straight NCAA appearances and coached Penn's first ever All- American player who finished #12 in the country, the highest ranked player in Ivy League history. His team was ranked #30 in the country. His team advanced to the NCAA championship in 2007 and his top doubles team reached the final 16 at the NCAA tournament.

Mike graduated from George Washington University in 1994. He was a two time captain and was the 'Volvo Rookie Player of Year 1990'; GWU record holder for most career singles wins; and Team MVP in 1994. He played on the ATP Satellite Circuit and played tournaments for a year upon graduation.

We are happy to welcome back Mike for his fifth year and look forward to another great season of tennis with him at Willowbrook Swim and Tennis Club.
